سُورَةُ الهُمَزَةِ

9 Ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ (1)

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,

ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ (2)

who amasses wealth ˹greedily˺ and counts it ˹repeatedly˺,

يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ (3)

thinking that their wealth will make them immortal!

كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِى ٱلْحُطَمَةِ (4)

Not at all! Such a person will certainly be tossed into the Crusher.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحُطَمَةُ (5)

And what will make you realize what the Crusher is?

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُوقَدَةُ (6)

˹It is˺ Allah’s kindled Fire,

ٱلَّتِى تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةِ (7)

which rages over the hearts.
