بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ (1)

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, and he ˹himself˺ perish!



مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ (2)

Neither his wealth nor ˹worldly˺ gains will benefit him.



سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ (3)

He will burn in a flaming Fire,



وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ (4)

and ˹so will˺ his wife, the carrier of ˹thorny˺ kindling,1



فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ (5)

around her neck will be a rope of palm-fibre.1
