ٱلْمُؤْمِنُون

118 Ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ (1)

Successful indeed are the believers:

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَـٰشِعُونَ (2)

those who humble themselves in prayer;

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ (3)

those who avoid idle talk;

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَـٰعِلُونَ (4)

those who pay alms-tax;¹

وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَـٰفِظُونَ (5)

those who guard their chastity¹

إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ (6)

except with their wives or those ˹bondwomen˺ in their possession,¹ for then they are free from blame,

فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ (7)

but whoever seeks beyond that are the transgressors;
