ٱلشُّعَرَاء

227 Ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ (169)

My Lord! Save me and my family from ˹the consequences of˺ what they do.”

فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ (170)

So We saved him and all of his family,

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ (171)

except an old woman,¹ who was one of the doomed.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ (172)

Then We utterly destroyed the rest,

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ (173)

pouring upon them a rain ˹of brimstone˺. How evil was the rain of those who had been warned!

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ (174)

Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ (175)

And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
