بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ


ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ (218)

Who sees you when you rise ˹for prayer at night˺,



وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ (219)

as well as your movements ˹in prayer˺ along with ˹fellow˺ worshippers.



إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ (220)

He ˹alone˺ is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.



هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ (221)

Shall I inform you of whom the devils ˹actually˺ descend upon?



تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ (222)

They descend upon every sinful liar,



يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ (223)

who gives an ˹attentive˺ ear ˹to half-truths˺, mostly passing on sheer lies.1 



وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ (224)

As for poets, they are followed ˹merely˺ by deviants.
