سُورَةُ الصَّافَّاتِ

182 Ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ (134)

˹Remember˺ when We delivered him and all of his family,

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ (135)

except an old woman,¹ who was one of the doomed.

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ (136)

Then We ˹utterly˺ destroyed the rest.

وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ (137)

You ˹Meccans˺ certainly pass by their ruins day

وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ (138)

and night. Will you not then understand?

وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ (139)

And Jonah was indeed one of the messengers.

إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ (140)

˹Remember˺ when he fled to the overloaded ship.
