سُورَةُ عَبَسَ
He frowned
42
Ayahs
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ (8)
But as for the one who came to you, eager ˹to learn˺,

وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ (9)
being in awe ˹of Allah˺,

فَأَنتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ (10)
you were inattentive to him.

كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ (11)
But no! This ˹revelation˺ is truly a reminder.

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ (12)
So let whoever wills be mindful of it.

فِى صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍ (13)
It is ˹written˺ on pages held in honour—

مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍۭ (14)
highly esteemed, purified—
