سُورَةُ الطَّارِقِ

17 Ayahs

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ (1)

By the heaven and the nightly star!

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ (2)

And what will make you realize what the nightly star is?

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ (3)

˹It is˺ the star of piercing brightness.

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ (4)

There is no soul without a vigilant angel ˹recording everything˺.

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ (5)

Let people then consider what they were created from!

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ (6)

˹They were˺ created from a spurting fluid,

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ (7)

stemming from between the backbone and the ribcage.¹
